I want to combine basic questions which should be answered in our lab at first:

Electronic devices

  • What is BNC? SMA? Difference?
  • Constant voltage vs AC? CC or CV?
  • How to work with scope? amplitude, frequency, coupling, trigger.
  • signal generator? waveforms, frequencies, amplitudes, purposes, prices, possible substitutions
  • spectrum analyzer. What is on the axis (typically)? What is RBW? What is VBW?

Electronics

  • opamps

Basic optical elements

  • BS or PBS (which polarization is reflected which is transmitted?)
  • HWP or QWP
  • AOM
  • Piezo-actuator
  • photodetectors
  • Do not work in degenerate regime

Optical schemes

  • telescope
  • telescope with 3 lenses, focal distances sensitivity, why do we need it?
  • mode cleaning
  • beam angle adjustment (near and far field)
  • mode matching of 2 beams
  • homodyne detector alignment
  • cavity alignment

Alkali metals

  • Rubidium 87 level structure
